| Essentially, an ultimatum was handed out from the Governor last week. Choosing between oceans and parks reminds me of that rhetorical question, "What would you rather have, air or water"? Yet it's so much more than an impossible ethical choice, CA oceans and parks are one and the same. Easily 1/3 of CA State Parks are State Beaches. Drilling itself, ultimately, will directly harm our state parks. On my 60+ parks video tour last year from the Oregon to Mexico borders, some of the most spectacular vistas were from these beaches near the proposed drilling site. (see oil drilling map and videos below). Drilling will cause an oil spill. It's happened before. We can't accept this solution. Speak out.
